Terms of service

Yash & Co Accountants · Accountancy terms · Last updated 6 October 2026 · https://yashfinancial.co.uk/accountants/terms

These are the full terms of service for accountancy work by Yash & Co Accountants. They are published at https://yashfinancial.co.uk/accountants/terms and they are the master version. Any service contract, engagement letter or email from us that refers to our accountancy terms means these terms. If a service contract or engagement letter that you and we have both signed sets out details for a particular job, such as the year, the fee or the filing dates, those details apply to that job alongside these terms.

1. Who we are

Yash & Co Accountants, 44 Nigel Road, Forest Gate, London E7 8AN. Telephone 020 8470 7910 (from abroad +44 20 8470 7910). Email info@yashfinancial.co.uk. Website https://yashfinancial.co.uk.

2. Financial services are separate

Yash Financial Services works from the same address, but its financial services work (mortgages, protection, credit broking and debt counselling) is a separate service with its own terms at https://yashfinancial.co.uk/terms. These accountancy terms do not cover that work.

Accountancy work by Yash & Co Accountants is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service.

3. What we do

The work we do for you, such as year-end accounts, Self Assessment returns, corporation tax, VAT, payroll, CIS or bookkeeping, is set out in your service contract or engagement letter. We only do the work listed there.

4. Not tax advice until we are engaged

Content on our website, calculators, and emails answering general questions give general information only. They are not tax or accounting advice for your circumstances. We give advice only after we have agreed in writing to act for you and have the information we need.

5. Your records and when we need them

You give us complete and accurate records of all income, expenses, assets and liabilities that belong in the accounts or the return, in time for us to do the work. Do not leave anything out because you assume we already know it.

Work What we need, and by when
Self Assessment Bank statements, P60s, P11Ds, property and other income records, and answers to our questions, by 30 November, so the return can be filed before 31 January. A later date only if we agree it in writing.
Limited company Full books and records within 6 weeks of the year end, so the accounts and corporation tax return can be prepared before the statutory dates.
VAT, payroll and CIS The figures we ask for by the dates in your engagement letter, and always before the return is due.

You also tell us promptly about changes, such as a new source of income, a new company or directorship, a change of address, shareholders or directors, VAT registration or employees.

6. Approving accounts and returns

We send you the accounts or the return before we file. You read it, correct anything that is wrong, and approve it in writing. We file only what you have approved in writing. Silence is not approval. You do not ask us to file anything you know is wrong.

7. Your tax, deadlines and penalties

You remain responsible for your own tax affairs, including the tax, interest, penalties and surcharges due. Under these terms we do not pay HMRC on your behalf. If records arrive late, are missing or are wrong, we may not be able to file on time, and any penalty, interest or surcharge that follows is yours. We will tell you when a deadline is at risk because of information we are still waiting for.

8. Identity checks

The law requires us to check the identity of our clients. Before we start, you give us the identity and address evidence we ask for. We cannot act until those checks are done.

9. Authority to deal with HMRC and Companies House

You authorise us to deal with HMRC, and with Companies House where the work needs it, on your behalf, and you keep that authority in place until the work is finished.

10. Fees

Fees are agreed with you separately in writing before work starts, together with when they are payable. If fees are unpaid we may stop work. Stopping work can make a filing late, and the deadline remains yours.

11. How we use your information

We handle personal information in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We use your information to provide our services, to carry out identity checks and to meet our legal duties, and we share it with HMRC, Companies House and others where the work or the law requires. Full details are in our privacy notice on the website at https://yashfinancial.co.uk/privacy.

12. Using our website

Our website is shared by Yash & Co Accountants and Yash Financial Services. Pages under https://yashfinancial.co.uk/accountants relate to accountancy. Calculators and tools give illustrations based only on the figures you enter and are not advice. We cannot promise that the website will always be available or free from errors, and we are not responsible for the content of other websites we link to.

13. Our liability

We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss caused by records or information you gave us that were incomplete, late or wrong, by a filing you approved, or by relying on general website content without advice from us. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Your legal rights are not affected.

14. Ending the work

You or we can end the work at any time by telling the other in writing. You still pay for work already done, and you remain responsible for filing anything that is still due.

15. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our accountancy work, please contact us so we can put it right: in writing to Yash & Co Accountants, 44 Nigel Road, Forest Gate, London E7 8AN, by email to info@yashfinancial.co.uk, or by telephone on 020 8470 7910.

Accountancy complaints are handled by the firm. They are not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service. This does not affect any other legal rights you have.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version, with its date, is always at https://yashfinancial.co.uk/accountants/terms. The version in force when you engage us applies to that work unless we agree a change with you in writing.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute, unless the law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
