Privacy notice

Yash Financial Services and Yash & Co Accountants · Shared privacy notice · Last updated 6 October 2026 · https://yashfinancial.co.uk/privacy

This notice explains how Yash Financial Services and Yash & Co Accountants collect and use personal information about clients, people who make an enquiry, and visitors to our website. It is published at https://yashfinancial.co.uk/privacy. We handle personal information in line with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Two separate services, one notice. Yash Financial Services provides financial services (such as mortgages, protection insurance, credit broking and debt counselling) and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Yash & Co Accountants provides accountancy and tax services; it is not regulated by the FCA and is not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service. The two services share an office, website, telephone number and email address, but they are separate services. Where this notice says "we", it means whichever of the two is handling your information for the service you use.

1. Who we are and who is responsible for your information

The organisation that decides how and why your personal information is used is called the "controller". Each service is the controller for its own work.

Health information (protection insurance). We use health and lifestyle information only to arrange protection insurance you have asked for. We rely on the conditions in the Data Protection Act 2018 that allow insurance intermediaries to process this information for insurance purposes, or on your explicit consent where that is needed. If you do not give us the information an insurer asks for, we may not be able to arrange cover.

If you do not give us information. Where we need information to meet a legal duty or to carry out our work (for example, identity evidence or records for your tax return), we may not be able to act for you without it.

Decisions about you. We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing. Lenders and insurers we introduce you to may use credit scoring or automated underwriting; they will explain this in their own privacy notices.

4. Who we share your information with

We share your information only where we need to for the service, where the law requires it, or where you have asked us to. We do not sell your personal information.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and then for any period required by law or regulation, or needed to deal with questions, complaints or legal claims. When we no longer need it, we delete or securely destroy it. For example:

6. Where your information is stored and international transfers

We aim to keep your information in the UK. Some of our service providers, such as website hosting, cloud software or email services, may store or access information outside the UK. Where this happens, we make sure it is protected by UK data protection law: either the country has been found by the UK to provide adequate protection, or we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum approved by the Information Commissioner. You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.

7. How we keep your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls, password-protected systems and secure storage of paper files. Only people who need your information to do their work can see it. Please take care when sending documents by email; contact us if you would prefer another way to send them.

8. Your rights

Some rights have limits. For example, we cannot delete records that the law or our regulator requires us to keep. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 1. There is normally no fee. We may need to check your identity, and we will usually reply within one month.

9. Contacting us and complaints

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator:

About our financial services (Yash Financial Services). Complaints about the financial services we provided, rather than about data protection, are handled under our complaints procedure. If you are not happy with our final response, or we have not sent you one within eight weeks, you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service at https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk or on 0800 023 4567. See our financial services terms at https://yashfinancial.co.uk/terms.
